This past Saturday, August 29th, PUSH was lucky enough to attend the grand re-opening of the Grant St. Neighborhood Center with a special youth talent show in conjunction with the Art of Hip-Hop.
We saw some great singers, MCs, and other performers show their stuff with some help from Edreys on the mic and Tone X behind the turntables. There were also snacks, games, and and a great atmosphere in general.
PUSH believes the re-opening of the Grant St. Neighborhood Center is extremely significant for the West Side as it provides structured activities for neighborhood youth as well as eventually host a variety of other communally beneficial programs. The center will eventually become a functional library as well which is great news!
PUSH would like to thank the two folks that coordinate the Neighborhood Center, Briana & Janice, for all of their hard work in hosting a really successful event. PUSH wants to remind everyone that the center is open Monday-Friday from 3p.m.-7p.m. and that you should stop on by!
