The park on Massachusetts Avenue on the West Side of Buffalo, NY was identified as a problem by the community a few years ago. Neighborhood residents were concerned about decades of neglect catching up to a newer generation of youth. Perceptions of the park included a lack of lighting, the need for additional park entrances/exits, maintenance, and the updating of general park facilities. A group of neighborhood residents concentrating on the rebirth of this park was formed. They have been busy at work and the fruits of their labor keep unfolding!
Two weeks ago, PUSH leaders Bob, Alba, Terry, Mike and Linda met with our Niagara District Council Member David Rivera
. We asked him to put $200,000 in the 2012 City of Buffalo capital budget to be used for Phase II of getting our Mass Ave Park back in order and he agreed!
Thank you Council Member Rivera for supporting your constituents' efforts to rebuild our neighborhood park!
