Missed the Annual Building Blocks Breakfast? You Still Have a Chance to HELP by Donating to PUSH’s ANNUAL APPEAL.
PUSH is committed to putting people first! This philosophy is what guides our work and development as we continue to make an impact through neighborhood revitalization initiatives in the Green Development Zone by combining green affordable housing construction, community based renewable energy projects, housing weatherization, green jobs training, green infrastructure, and vacant land restoration projects toward the goal of creating pathways to employment for neighborhood residents while reducing our carbon footprint.
In 2009, the Grant Street Neighborhood Center (GSNC) was founded by PUSH in partnership with the City of Buffalo in order to serve as a drop-in community center offering a variety of services, resources, and programs. GSNC opens its doors to the public every weekday from 2:30pm to 7:00pm with approximately 2,000 youth served on an annual basis. Participants use our all-purpose computer lab, play board games, take part in arts and crafts activities, strum a guitar, or borrow a book from the developing book-lending library. Beyond these “ambient activities,” GSNC offers structured programming. Core programs currently include a curriculum-based reading/writing tutoring, a writing club, teen girls’ and teen boys’ groups, a visual arts program, and yoga classes – all free of cost.
If you believe in our philosophy of putting people first, believe in the transformative neighborhood revitalization and sustainable work of PUSH, we are asking you to donate what you can to our end of year appeal by December 31, 2013. No gift is too small. We need to raise $15,000 to meet our year-end goal. Help us end the year on a high note by donating today. You can make your donation online through paypal, http://pushbuffalo.org/donate or by check to PUSH Buffalo, 271 Grant Street, Buffalo, NY 14213.
