Push Buffalo member Zaw Win has been invited to the TASSC annual June Survivor
scheduled this year for June 22-26 at TASSC International in Washington, DC. TASSC
was founded by torture victims and is a group that is dedicated to fighting torture and abuse. During the week survivors of torture from around the world will gather in Washington D.C. to join in five days of public activities.
Zaw is a survivor, he is the embodiment of “Real people, real power”! A Burmese native Zaw spent a number of years in a Thai refugee camp where life was rough as he endured torture and abuse himself. He was afforded the opportunity to come to the U.S. a few years ago. Upon arriving he has been busy at work making a new life for himself on the West Side of Buffalo. He is an active member of PUSH Buffalo and he recently celebrated the one year anniversary of his business. We wish Zaw well as he prepares to embark on this journey.
